On this incredible tour you’ll cycle across the top of the Lake Champlain islands passing over the super cool 4 mile causeway where you’ll feel like you are cycling directly on the lake! You’ll then make your way down the New York bank of gorgeous Lake Champlain. Day 3 of the tour brings you to amazing Ausable Chasm with optional adventure tours of the chasm include rope bridge adventure walks and easy rafting. If you opt for the Full Loop tour you’ll cycle to impressive Fort Ticonderoga with its incredible history, and then complete the full loop around Lake Champlain returning to Burlington, VT.

Getting Here:  Full Loop can originate in either Burlington VT or Albany NY. Short Loop is Burlington, VT only. 

Day 1:  Arrive Burlington, VT

Arrive Burlington. If you arrive early make sure to stroll around super cool Church Street with its lively shops and great pubs.

Day 2:  Burlington to Isle La Motte

Cycling:   43 Miles

You’re off and pedaling along the beautiful shore of Lake Champlain where you’ll cycle across the cool Champlain causeway, and hitting all 4 of the gorgeous Champlain Islands. You spend the night on beautiful Isle La Motte with lovely lakeside lodging.

Day 3:  Isle La Motte to Plattsburgh, NY

Cycling:        50 Miles

Today’s ride takes you just shy of the Canadian border where you’ll cycle across the top of awesome Lake Champlain with outstanding views and scenery. You then make your way done the New York side of the lake enjoying great cycling as you make your way to Plattsburgh, tonight’s destination.

Day 4: Plattsburgh to Westport - Side Tour to Ausable Chasm

Cycling:    20 Miles  or  45 Miles

Whether you’re cycling the short or full loop, today’s ride brings you to amazing Ausable Chasm where you can do an adventure walk across several rope bridges or take a super cool rafting trip. Short Loop returns to Burlington, while the Full Loop continues to Westport for your overnight stay.

Day 5: Westport to Fort Ticonderoga

Cycling:    28 Miles

Today’s ride delivers takes you to historic Fort Ticonderoga. The fort has had a real identity crisis changing hands from French, to British, to American so many times it’s hard to keep track. But not to worry, the staff, in period uniforms, are there to give you all the rich history as you tour this National treasure and enjoy the gorgeous grounds and views of the lake.

Day 6: Ticonderoga to Burlington

Cycling:    54 Miles

After a great night, its back on the bikes as you cycle your way back to Burlington, VT, passing His Majesty’s Fort at Crown Point with spectacular grounds and more Revolutionary War history.  Back in Burlington you’ll stay overnight with another opportunity to enjoy this cool, hippy-chic town!
