New England, the birthplace of America. Rich history, quaint villages, white sand beaches, lighthouses, expansive lakes, panoramic ocean and mountain views, and so much more! There is just so much to do and see in New England that it takes more than a bike. Join us on this incredible tour as we explore beautiful New England by bike, boat and boot!

This tour beings in Boston the "Cradle of Freedom" with a guided walking tour on the Freedom Trail, then it's on to colorful Cape Cod with gorgeous beaches, and cycling the Gingerbread Cottages of famous Martha's Vineyard. Heading north to the majestic White Mountains of New Hampshire, you'll enjoy easy, scenic cycling & hiking in Franconia Notch, a gentle canoe trip on the Sacco River, and a thrilling ride up the Mount Washington Auto Road. Continuing north we'll spend 4 glorious days in Acadia National Park, on the beautiful, but rugged, coast of Maine. We'll hike, cycle and paddle in landscapes that will leave you breathless! We'll explore the diversity of Acadia as we cycling historic Carriage Roads, take a guided, kayak nature tour, hike to spectacular vistas, and even relax on a sunset, happy hour sail.

Getting Here:  Tour originates in Boston MA. Free shuttle pick up and return to Logan Airport, Boston is included.

Day 1  :  Arrival

Arrive Boston Logan Airport.

7:00 PM  -  Welcome social and full trip orientation.

Day 2  :  Boston by Boot & Harbor Island Tour

Walking:  Approx. 2 miles

This tour begins with guided walking tour on the historic Freedom Trail where costumed guides tell the story of the early days of our War for Independence. We then board the ferry for a scenic boat tour through the Boston Harbor Islands, and a brief shuttle by van to gorgeous Cape Cod.

Day 3  :  Martha's Vineyard Exploration by Bike

Cycling:  10 - 25 Miles

We enjoy an truly great ferry ride to Martha's Vineyard where you will be delighted by the colorful and unique Gingerbread Cottages. You're welcome to explore on your own, or join us for our guided bike tour around the island.

Day 4  :  Historic Plimoth Plantation by Boot

Walking:  Less than 2 Miles

Today we'll visit historic Plimoth Plantation, the second British Colony to be founded in America, after which we'll shuttle by van to gorgeous Franconia Notch, New Hampshire as we leave the New England coast and head for its majestic mountains!

Day 5  :  Franconia Notch by Bike & Boot

Cycling: 12 Miles

Hiking:   < 5 Miles total for the day

The scenery today will take you breath away, but the easy cycling and hiking won't! Cycling is all downhill on a remarkably scenic bike path, and our 5 miles of walking is broken up over a few short hikes to glorious waterfalls and scenic vistas!

Day 6  :  Conway NH & Sacco River Paddle

Hiking:  1.5 Miles

Paddle:  Guided Tour & Riverside Picnic Lunch

We kick off the day with a short hike to an incredible waterfall, then it's off for easy paddling on the beautiful Sacco River. After paddling, we shuttle to charming Conway, NH where you can spend the rest of the day exploring, and which will be our overnight stay for our next 2 evenings.

Day 7  :  Mt. Washington Auto Road & Tuckerman's Ravine Hike

Hiking:   Tuckerman Ravine (less than 5 miles)

Activity:  Mt. Washington Auto Road

Today you're treated to the full beauty of the impressive White Mountains of New Hampshire. We'll hike into the belly of Mt. Washington on the Tuckerman Ravine trail, then enjoy a guided van tour to is majestic summit, with expansive views of these beautiful mountains.

Day 8  :  Travel to Acadia Nation Park, Maine

8:30 AM Shuttle to Acadia National Park, Bar Harbor Maine

We'll arrive in Bar Harbor approximately 1:00 PM and you'll have the rest of the day to explore this beautiful harbor town on your own.

Day 9  :  Acacia National Park by Boot

Hiking: Several small hikes totaling under 7 miles

Today we'll tour the park by van stopping a many spots for very short hikes that are packed with beautiful vistas. In the evening we'll enjoy a sunset happy-hour sailing tour on the famous Martha Todd, a rare 4-masted schooner.

Day 10  :  Acadia National Park by Bike

Cycling: 5, 10 or 13 miles

Today we cycle the park with several ride options to suit your fancy, as we cycle past some of the most icon features of Acadia dropping the kickstand often for short walks to scenic vistas, and we'll enjoy a nice rest and refreshment at the famous Jordan Pond House.

Day 11  :  Acadia National Park by Boat & Boot

Paddling: 4 hour Guided Nature Tour by Kayak

Hiking:  Easy Hike < 2 miles

We start the day with a guided  kayak tour and the possibility of seeing seals, sea lions, bald eagles, deer and other animals, in addition to the incredible views of the Maine coast from the sea. In the evening we'll do a sunset hike before getting Downeast with a good ol' fashioned clam bake!

Day 12  :  Historic Strawbery Banke, Portsmouth, New Hampshire

Walking Tour: Strawbery Banke, Portsmouth

We'll spend the morning shuttling to Portsmouth where we'll visit beautiful and historic Strawbery Banke. You'll have the rest of the day to explore this lovely seaport community on your own.

Day 13  :  Gloucester Massachusetts & Whale Watch Tour

10:00 AM:  Shuttle to Gloucester

You'll have time to explore Gloucester before the whale watch tour, then it's on board for a thrilling adventure of getting up close and personal with Minke, Finback, Humpbacks and other species of whales, dolphins and seabirds!

Departure to your homebound or other destinations.
